“We’ve witnessed a tiger shark attack on Dunham. He’s mortally wounded,” said McCulloch, a Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution director. “There may be a possibility we need to euthanize him.” About 400 miles away, Kevin Walsh answered his phone at the Gulf World Marine Park. The dolphin he had helped nurse from near death for seven months now needed to die.

The body of a shark was left lying in the middle of a downtown Miami street after two men tried to sell it to several fish markets. Surveillance video caught the men dragging the five or six-foot-long animal around town.

Jenna James was swimming behind her home on Boca Ciega Drive when she was bitten above the right knee. She was swimming with her sister in fairly shallow water in Boca Ciega Bay and felt a cutting sensation above her knee.

A dog is recovering after a Florida Keys carpenter dove in to save his pet from a shark.
Greg LeNoir said he took his 14-pound rat terrier Jake for a daily swim at a marina Friday.
The five-foot shark suddenly surfaced and grabbed nearly the entire dog in its mouth.
