Sharks breaching in Southern California is uncommon behavior

Fear Beneath reader Kim Welsh posted an informational alert this morning that we thought we’d share…

“I saw a shark breach southwest of the point at Sunset this morning around 650am

The shark came completely out of the water and turned on its back so I coudl see its white bellly and dark gray back, The shark appeared to be about 5-6 feet in length.

This is my 2nd sighting in 10 days at Sunset. I have been surfing in LA for 14 years and have never seen this!”

I was fishing a few miles north of gaviota yesterday about 1/2 mile off shore and a gigantic 20'+ great white breached. I almost shit in my pants. The last time I shit in my pants was when I saw a 15' great white cruising off point conception 3 months ago. I was only 100 yards from shore.
