Shark Attacks Surfer at Surf Beach, LompocThe Fear Beneath brings you an *exclusive* report from the shark-y waters of Lompoc, in Northern Santa Barbara County, where earlier this year we reported on our exclusive picture of a Bixby White Shark Kill! SURF BEACH, LOMPOC

NORTHERN SANTA BARBARA COUNTY

Our sources tell us that while out surfing, a friend of theirs – Kyle (last name withheld,) was on “the outside reform” at Surf Beach Monday when a large shark began to circle him. Kyle used his surfboard as a shield and pointed the fins of his board towards the shark.

The result are these AMAZING pictures… Be sure to notice the diameter of the shark’s mouth – it is tremendous!

This looks to us like a Great White Shark, possibly 14-16 feet in length, doing some late summer hunting at your local surf spot! Be certain to use caution and have a high awareness level when recreating in this area for at least the next week.

Does anyone actually surf, at surf beach? I have NEVER seen anyone in the water so i'm not sure if it's wise for myself to test those waters

last wednesday the 18 was stand up paddling at sunset pacific palisades, been surfing the malibu area since 60's never saw this. size of large dolphin swam under me clear 10 foot to bottom, slowly cursing by large cycle shaped virtical tail extra bloated mid section dark grey brown wide base dorsel fincould not believe i was seeing this. watched it swim fifty feet away towards surfer then turned back towards me but did not get an aggressive vib it seemed to be closer to the bottom maybe looking for fish it then turned away from me and went south towards beach club. hard to say but had to be 8 foot range. really amazing told the surfer it swam towards but he diden't seem to believe me or be concerned.
