LMFAO! Does anybody know the percentages of people attacked here verse people using the water! Your probably more likely to be hit by lightening standing in your backyard than attacked by a great white shark in this area!

I have been hearing the rumors about this, I went out to surf last week and I don’t know how any of you can surf that shit but regardless, I go to a place just a wee bit south of Gaviota close to Refugio would it be considered safe? I always see seals popping out of the water, should that be the first sign of trouble?

Is there any way we could get the cast of Little People, Big World involved in Kyle’s photoshoot?

We know Kyle likes big women and Amy although small in stature has quite a pair of thunder thighs.

Zach may be able to satisfy Kyle’s fantastic thirst for young, midget boys.

wow, first saw this story in the Lompoc Record on 9/8….just now heard who the surfer was!!!! Kyle>you dont know me but i have seen you before at Jalama, and you’re HOT!@#$%^* so glad nothing happened to you and the shark did not bite off your “chorizo”.

Looks like Ralph interviewed Kyle on September 23rd – from the SRC pacific coast shark news:

“It was about 10:30 AM and I had been alone on the water for about 30 minutes. The sky was overcast and the ocean glassy calm with ‘shoulder high’ swells. When entering the water I observed a lone seal close inshore. After entering the water I was about 50 yards from the beach. While sitting on my board a pod of 10 – 15 dolphins swam right through my area heading from North to South. The dolphins were jumping out of the water as I have frequently observed when surfing. About a minute later I was hit from the back (tail of board) and lifted slowly out of the water as the shark pushed me 1 – 2 feet forward. I slid off the left side of my board as the shark pushed my board forward. The shark came to the surface with my board in its mouth. It was on my right and so close to me that I could see its eye roll back in the socket as it kept pushing and biting my board. The sensory pores on the underside of the snout were visible as I started to swim backwards while facing the shark. It began to thrash wildly in the water and I was struck by its tail as it descended out of sight. The Great White Shark was 10 – 12 feet in length and light grey in color. I swam to my board, which was now 15 – 20 feet away, climbed on and paddled to shore. This is the third shark I’ve seen from this location and second in the last month.”

I had never heard of this spot called Jalamas.

Even though I consider Rincon my home break during the winter (it’s only a 45 minute drive from where I live), maybe I will have to start calling Jalamas my year-round home break.

I have a bunch of cool valley surfers who really want to check it out. I even asked Bret at Val Surf about it who said Jalamas has great hamburgers too??!!

Is it best on a south? It sounds like everybody is friendly there, no?

I think this was a nice attempt by a local to scare the occaisional visiting surfer from the area. Surf? They can have it……..lol.
